Android 6.0 updates start rolling out to Moto G Turbo Edition in India

Motorola had announced a New Year’s treat to its Moto G3 users in India that phones would get an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. However, the exact date of the rollout was not mentioned in the tweet.

According to reports, some users have started receiving updates to upgrade. The OTA (over-the-air) update is 445.5MB in size, finds this report and it also includes Android security update for December. Google’s Doze battery saving feature is also included here as part of Marshmallow that helps improve battery life significantly.

Generally, the phone would notify you about the update. If, however, one does not receive the notification, one can manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > System Update.

A budget smartphone, Moto G Turbo Edition features a Gorilla Glass 3 panel and a tightly packed built that is dust and water resistant with an IP67 rating. It has a sharp 5-inch TFT LCD display and the 1280x720p HD screen delivers a pixel density of 294 ppi. It features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chipset with an Adreno 403 GPU that is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The 13MP, AF, f/2.0 primary camera with a 76 degree field of view (FOV) also packs in a dual tone, dual-LED flash and a 5MP Fixed Focus unit sits on the front that sports an f/2.2 aperture with a 72 degree FOV. It features a 2470mAh battery and the smartphone supports Motorola’s TurboPower charging tech that delivers up to 6 hours of use from just 15 minutes charging.
