Health benefits of drinking alcohol

What people think about you if you drink beer?
Do they say that you are drunk always?
Then throw all their thoughts to somewhere and show all these health benefits to them. Moderate consumption of alcohol may have some considerable health assistance.
Here are some of the benefits:

It Can Lengthen Your Life
Drinking occasionally could add a few years to your life. A study by the Catholic University of Campobasso reported that drinking less than four or two drinks per day for men. "Little amounts, preferably during meals, this appears to be the right way (to drink alcohol)," said Dr. Giovanni de Gaetano of Catholic University, another author on the study. "This is another feature of the Mediterranean diet, where alcohol, wine above all, is the ideal partner of a dinner or lunch, but that's all: the rest of the day must be absolutely alcohol-free."

Reduces Risk of Heart Disease
All alcohol, whether it is beer, wine, or liquor, is known to help reduce heart disease. According to a 2008 article in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association, moderate consumption of alcohol makes blood less sticky, and so it is less likely to clot. Alcohol can also increase good cholesterol and lower the bad, as well as lower your blood pressure. A Harvard study of 70,000 women found that those who consumed beer had a lower blood pressure than those who consumed wine or hard alcohol.

Reduces Risk of Diabetes
In 2011, Harvard did a study of 38,000 middle-aged men, which showed that, when they upped their intake of beer to two a day, they dropped their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 25 percent. There was, however, no noted benefit from drinking more than two beers a day.

Reduces Risk of Cancer
Just putting your meat in a marinade of beer can eliminate almost 70 percent of carcinogens from the meat, a Portuguese study found. That might not transfer to drinking the beer, but who doesn’t love a good beer marinade? If you do just drink it, though, it does contain loads of helpful antioxidants that can keep you healthy.

Helps the Kidneys
Alcohol gets a bad wrap for being hard on your kidneys, but beer can actually help in that department. According to the 2011 ADA Times, beer can actually reduce your risk of kidney stones. The hops not only help slow the release of calcium from the bones — too much calcium can cause kidney stones — but beer also has a high water content, which helps clear out those kidneys.

iPhone 6 – In 2 different sizes end of this year

iPhone 6 variations

Always people have different views when it comes to Apple. Particularly consumers are very eager to know what Apple is going to launch differently every year. Likewise, the same hope is residing across people and the expectations are growing year over year.

This year (according to rumors) Apple is going to launch 2 new versions of iPhone this year, one at the start of Fall (September) and the other one very end of the year.

Mostly the iPhone rumors are spreading widely here is about the screen size in iPhone 6. Because as we have seen that iPhone screen size has grown from 3.5 inches to 4 inches in iPhone 5 and the same is expected to happen in iPhone 6. Bigger the screen size and larger the audience is practical.

Even if Apple does not come up with any screen sizes from its own R&D team every year, there are people (who are called as rumors) who work freely for Apple to suggest the screen sizes for iPhone 6 between 4.7 inches to 5.5 inches.

Apple Stock Split - 7 for 1

On April 23rd, Apple (stock symbol: AAPL) announced to split its current stock to 7 equal parts, so generally it is called 7 to 1. (Example: Split 1 $100 bill to 2 equal $50 bills). The NET value remains the same, but it will allow the small investors or individual investors to bring forward or give a chance to buy the Apple’s stock at the lower price after the stock split.

Apple Stock Split

Market research analysts consider that most stock splits are 2-to-1, sometimes 3-to-1. But Apple’s 7-to-1 split is highly unusual
Some investors predict that this could be a magic and Apple can do anything as it is a trend setter for all its peers.
Within a day of stock split announcement, Apple’s share has gained $43/share. Today’s value per share is $567.77 (up 8%) compared to yesterday’s price $524.75
It’s a move not without risks. By reducing the share price, you make it easier to buy and sell stock, which can make the share price more volatile. But Apple’s board of directors probably figures that small investors are more likely to be those with loyalty to the company rather than the big institutional investors who may take a much more short-term view

Project LOON and YOU

What do you think about today’s world?

Can you live without internet for a day or two?

There are people who can live without food, but contrast to them, there are people who cannot live without internet, and they want to be connected always.

Many of us think of the Internet as a global community. But two-thirds of the world’s population does not yet have Internet access. Project Loon is a network of balloons traveling on the edge of space, designed to connect people in rural and remote areas, help fill coverage gaps, and bring people back online after disasters.

Google is coming up with BALLOON-POWERED INTERNET FOR EVERYONE.

Project LOON

Project Loon began with a pilot test in June 2013, when thirty balloons were launched from New Zealand’s South Island and beamed Internet to a small group of pilot testers. The pilot test has since expanded to include a greater number of people over a wider area. Looking ahead, Project Loon will continue to expand the pilot through 2014, with the goal of establishing a ring of uninterrupted connectivity around the 40th southern parallel, so that pilot testers at this latitude can receive continuous service via balloon-powered Internet.

Project Loon balloons travel approximately 20 km above the Earth’s surface in the stratosphere. Winds in the stratosphere are stratified, and each layer of wind varies in speed and direction. Project Loon uses software algorithms to determine where its balloons need to go, then moves each one into a layer of wind blowing in the right direction. By moving with the wind, the balloons can be arranged to form one large communications network.

Stratosphere

Situated on the edge of space, between 10 km and 60 km in altitude, the stratosphere presents unique engineering challenges: air pressure is 1% that at sea level, and this thin atmosphere offers less protection from UV radiation and dramatic temperature swings, which can reach as low as -80°C. By carefully designing the balloon envelope to withstand these conditions, Project Loon is able to take advantage of the stratosphere’s steady winds and remain well above weather events, wildlife and airplanes.

Navigate with the wind

Each balloon can provide connectivity to a ground area about 40 km in diameter at speeds comparable to 3G. For balloon-to-balloon and balloon-to-ground communications, the balloons use antennas equipped with specialized radio frequency technology. Project Loon currently uses ISM bands (specifically 2.4 and 5.8 GHz bands) that are available for anyone to use.

Google Glass and YOU

Are you ready for the race to the next generation of technology?

Well, there are more technologies to come in the couple of years, but to start with more sensational gadget that is going to rock the world by end of this year is GLASS, yes you heard me right, it is GOOGLE GLASS. It might be considered as one of the best innovations to go online all time.

Google Glass
The glass is marked at a hefty price of $1500 for the consumers use by end of the year 2014. Even Google announced ONE DAY sale on April 15th 2014 for the interested users to buy the glass, but to everyone’s surprise, people came forward to pay that cumbersome price of $1500 and bought the glass to explore. Google gives the option to users to choose the frames out of their 4 models as shown below.

In coming days, there might be more customization options available for the frames from other third party companies
I had a chance to use the GOOGLE GLASS and I can say that, it is a piece of innovation.
You can take the picture at a blink of your eye or through voice commands.
Record video from your voice commands.
Upload photos and videos directly to G+ (Kind of marketing strategy to G+, but who knows, people might come up with new apps for google glass when it is fully launched)

In my personal opinion, I can say that Google Glass is a piece of technology for the gadget freak to hangout, but will not be useful for day to day life due to privacy concern.
